Saidi Idriss Lutta sat his KCPE examination at Emining Primary School in 2019 and managed 401 marks out of 500. He was then offered a place at Maranda High School.
Unfortunately, his dreams of joining the school of his choice and becoming a neurosurgeon in future may be shuttered as the family, according to his former school head Mr Silas Kipngok, is not in a position to cater for his shopping and fees ahead of his admission next week.
Saidi is a son of a single mother who is a vegetable vendor. His sickly mother Ms Lilian Ayabei says she has no hope of getting any money as she has other children in secondary school, college and university.
